Caring For Your Soap
and other Frequently Asked Questions
How To Get The Most From Your Bar Soap:
Keep Your Soap Away From Water - this may sound counter-intuitive, but nothing makes your soap break down faster than water. Avoid storing it in places that are in constant contact with water - such as the direct stream from your shower.
Let It Air Dry Between Uses - The longer your soap spends dry, the longer it will last. The best way to accomplish this is to…
Use A Well Draining Soap Dish - Bamboo, wire, ceramic, anything that allows water to drain away from your soap will do
Use A Soap Saver Bag, Washcloth, or Loofah - If using the soaps in the shower or bath, a cloth scrub instead of your hands will up the lather and extend the life of your soap
What Is The Best Bar For My Sensitive Skin?
That really depends on you! The type of sensitivity you have will really determine the kind of soap that you need, and what you should steer clear of. All of my soaps are made with a combination of oils and butters that are designed to cleanse your skin gently yet effectively. None of the information on this website or soap should be taken as medical advice, please. My soaps are meant to be enjoyed - to get you clean and provide a little aromatherapy - but they won’t solve any medical issues.
Where Do You Source Your Ingredients?
I buy from a variety of vendors, placing a emphasis on small, locally owned businesses along the West Coast. Since many of my ingredients cannot be made locally, I also work to ensure that my products come from fair trade, environmentally responsible organizations.
Why Essential Oils Instead Of Fragrance Oils?
All of my products are scented using pure essential oils. In addition to the fact that this gives me greater control over creating my own scents, it also helps to ensure that I am using the most pure products that I can. Phthalate, paraben, and palm oil free.
